Golovkin’s fight with Monroe (19-1, 6 KOs), which took place on May 16, 2015 at The Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, California, was the 14th title defense of his World Middleweight titles. Monroe was on a roll, as he was coming in on an eight-fight winning streak, which included winning the Boxcino Middleweight title.
On November 7, 2015, Provodnikov (24-4, 17 KOs), who was making his first start since controversially dropping the WBO Junior Welterweight World Title, traveled to the scenic country of Monte Carlo to take on the undefeated Mexican warrior Rodriguez.
