PHILADELPHIA PA –\u00a0<\/b>On Saturday September 7th\u00a0at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles,\u00a0Bryan Vera<\/b>\u00a0will step into the ring with former WBC Middleweight champion\u00a0Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.<\/b>\u00a0in what will be the biggest test of Vera\u2019s career.<\/p>\n
The fight is promoted by Top Rank, Banner Promotions and Zanfer Promotions and will be televised live on HBO Championship Boxing.<\/p>\n
Bryan Vera (23-6, 14 KO\u2019s)<\/b>\u00a0is currently ranked number-one by the WBO in the middleweight division. Vera is currently on a four fight win streak with victories over former world champions Sergiy Dziznriuk (37-2-1, 24 KO) and Sergio Mora (24-3-2, 7 KO).<\/p>\n
This fight had been in the works since May and due to the fight being close to finalized a few times, Vera has been training for weeks in Houston, Texas.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will be fully prepared.\u00a0 I have never had this much time to train and prepare\u201d, said Vera.<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like I already have a head start and I am going to make everyone proud.\u00a0 I am going to win\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
The fight will be contested at 168 pounds, which Vera has no problem with.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have actually fought three times at that weight and Chavez hasn\u2019t.\u00a0 I know the weight will not affect me and I will be strong at the weight\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32 KO\u2019s)<\/b>\u00a0is coming off his first defeat in his much anticipated showdown last September against Sergio Martinez. \u00a0Vera believes he is set up in the right spot to pull the upset.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is probably taking me lightly but it doesn\u2019t matter.\u00a0 I will be 110% on fight night\u201d.<\/i><\/p>\n
