Brandon Adams turned professional in 2011 after eight amateur fights and quickly built a reputation as a man to avoid, thanks to his hand speed and obvious power. Standing 5’8″ after growing up small for football, he found his path in boxing after watching Mike Tyson fights as a kid.
Adams competed in the Boxcino tournament series, stopping veteran Daniel Edouard and beating tough Texan Ray Gatica before falling to Willie Monroe in the finals. He scored a second-round win over Lekan Byfield on ESPN, a 5th-round stoppage of Alex Perez, and a 7th-round stoppage of Vito Gasparyan in a tournament semifinal.
His trainer Dub Huntley put it simply: “If he keeps his mind right, he can be a champion. He’s strong, unusually strong, and he hits like a heavyweight.”
